Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
Life Leaps ("we," "us," "the app") is built around a simple principle: your family's information belongs on your device, not on our servers. This policy explains what that means in practice.
1. There is no backend server
Life Leaps does not operate a server that stores your profiles, journal entries, photos, or notification preferences. All of that data is saved locally on your device using on-device storage. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. We never see it, and we cannot recover it for you.
2. What we don't collect
- No account or sign-up is required to use Life Leaps.
- We do not collect your child's name, date of birth, photos, or journal notes on any server. They stay on your device.
- We do not sell or share personal information, because we don't hold any to begin with.
3. Anonymous usage analytics
We use a privacy-focused analytics service to understand, in aggregate, how people use the app (for example, which screens are opened) so we can improve it. This is limited to anonymous product-usage events and does not include your child's profile data, journal content, or photos.
4. Notifications
"Stormy period" and upcoming-leap reminders are scheduled directly on your device. No push-notification server is involved, and no notification content is sent to us.
5. Device permissions
Depending on how you use the app, you may be asked for the following permissions. Each is used only for the purpose described, and only with your consent:
- Notifications: to alert you when a developmental leap or stormy period is approaching.
- Calendar: to add leap and stormy-period dates to your own calendar, if you choose to.
- Photo library / camera: to attach a photo to a leap's journal note, if you choose to.
6. Subscriptions
Premium features are offered as an in-app subscription, processed by Apple through the App Store and managed on our behalf by RevenueCat, a subscription-management provider. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple. We never receive or store your card information. RevenueCat receives the technical information necessary to validate and manage your subscription (such as a device-linked purchase identifier).
7. Children's privacy
Life Leaps is intended for use by parents and adults, who may enter information about a child for their own reference. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and no child-related data is transmitted to or stored by us, since all such data stays on the parent's device.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
